How to Style a Puff Sleeve Top: 2 Simple Ways

I hated middle school. And it wasn’t because of the typical reasons that we see on TV all the time. I was easily one of the tallest girls in middle school and I hated it with a passion. I was always subconsciously hunched over to appear like I was shorter and had more narrow shoulders. Fast forward to junior high, I didn’t have that issue anymore since almost everyone was taller than me at that point. But if you would have told me back then that I would love wearing a puff sleeve top in the future, I would have definitely thought you were crazy.

Puff Sleeve Tops for Spring and Summer

Puff sleeve tops have been on and off the scene quite a bit these past few years. I’m so glad they’re a thing this Spring and hopefully, they will remain a trend for Summer. Ironically, the girl that used to hate her height and “broad” shoulders in middle school now turns to these tops because they just scream CONFIDENT. Crazy, right? But, seriously, if you want to make a subtle yet feminine statement, these tops are the way to go. You can dress them up or down, making them an easy pick for any occasion. But how exactly do you style them?

2 Ways to Style

Pairing a puff sleeve top with jeans is the ultimate upgrade to any casual outfit, hands down! Since the weather is getting warmer, it may be more appropriate to say crop jeans but either choice is a LOOK. I recently wore one of my tops styled this way just to hang out in the city and received lots of compliments. The jeans allowed the look to be cute, but not “do too much”.

You may have a more formal occasion to attend or you’re in one of those dressy moods. Pair your top with belted tailored pants or shorts and heels, thank me later! This look is very flattering and I’m personally thinking it’s going to be my main go-to for Spring and Summer events this year.
