Makeup Products I Purchased & Loved in 2019 – Sensitive Skin Friendly

It’s time for a little makeup roundup!  I’ve been on a mission lately. I LOVE trying out new makeup, but I’ve really been on the search for my staple items, those makeup products that I KNOW I can go to no matter what.  And with sensitive skin, y’all, I see that’s not the easiest thing to do! I want to share the makeup products that I actually purchased and loved last year. (It still feels crazy saying 2019 was last year!)

Before I get into the products that I loved, I will mention the one product that didn’t agree with me so much.  I purchased the Cover FX Power Play concealer around the end of last year and we literally had a blending battle (that I lost).  The concealer is very thick and it was not easy to blend at all for me. Plus, it gave me that tingly feeling immediately which usually means a breakout will be visiting soon.  I was super excited because it was on the clean makeup list at Sephora but unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. Okay, let’s get into these products!

Too Faced Born this Way Foundation and Concealer

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation and Super Coverage Concealer

I was wearing my Becca Ultimate Coverage Foundation that was my holy grail for the summer, but I saw that when the temps dropped, it had me looking kind of glossy and patchy.  No, no. A very nice employee at Sephora matched me with the Born This Way foundation in Praline and the concealer in Cookie (currently out of stock at Sephora but in stock at Ulta so I linked both) and I have been OBSESSED!  The foundation has the perfect coverage and blends like a dream.  I can say the same about the concealer. With both products, a little goes a long way and it does not oxidize at all after applied.  How had I not tried these products sooner??

Urban Decay Optical Illusion Complexion Primer

I had honestly had my eye on this primer for quite some time so I finally decided to buy it.  What do I regret? Not buying it sooner! The consistency of the primer is fairly tacky, but not much so it literally “grips” the foundation.  It makes my face instantly smooth to the touch, which makes all the difference with the foundation finish. No foundation movement and it glides straight on.  Needless to say, this is my new go-to primer!

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’R Instant Retouch Setting Powder

This was another product that the employee at Sephora matched me with and I’ve had zero complaints!  This powder is super fine and glides on like a dream.  It doesn’t have that “powdery” look which is a plus for me.  I use it to set my concealer in place. The only small con that I have is the smell.  If I’m having a problem with my allergies, I have to use my Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder which has no smell but otherwise, this powder is a winner.  I linked below the full size as well as the mini size!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Loose Highlighter

When these loose highlighters came out early last year, I HAD to have at least one.  I wasn’t disappointed. Of course, you don’t want to go crazy with it because a little bit does what it’s supposed to do.  I picked up the color So Hollywood and I definitely want more colors to add that shiny pop to my makeup looks. Because we need the shine, okay?!  So Hollywood is currently sold out at Sephora and it’s currently not offered as a single at Ulta but I linked the set from Ulta that has So Hollywood included. You get three colors for $30 whereas you would pay $25 for one color.  You decide which is the better deal sis!

Buxom Boss Babe Betty Eyeshadow Palette

I instantly fell in love with this palette when I saw it in the store.  Usually, I’m a little hesitant when it comes to eyeshadow palettes, but I threw this one right in my shopping bag.  I’ve literally used it for all of my makeup looks since. I could travel with this one palette! It’s the perfect go-to nude colors and the shimmers are GORGEOUS.  They’re all just so pigmented and I can safely say that Buxom wowed me again. I say that because I’ve sworn by their Full On Plumping Lip Polish Gloss for YEARS.

So those are all of the products that I purchased and loved in 2019. It feels so good to find go-to products, especially products that don’t irritate your skin or eyes!  What are some makeup products that you’ve tried and loved recently?
